Artist Statement

In my artistic practice, I delve into the themes of sexual liberation and bodily autonomy, drawing inspiration from the realm of film and television. I am driven to establish deep personal connections between mainstream media and women's bodies, aiming to explore and unravel the intricate relationship that exists between them. This exploration serves as a means to analyze and confront complex emotions such as guilt, suppressed sexuality, and the disconnection I feel between my personal experiences and my Latin heritage. 

A central focus of my work lies in the transformative power of creative expression as a catalyst for healing and the generation of catharsis. I aspire to ignite dialogues and empower individuals to venture beyond their comfort zones, creating a safe and intimate space where they can freely articulate what may have previously remained unspoken. By extending an invitation to the audience into my personal space, employing crowd-sourcing and audience participation, I believe in fostering an environment that nurtures mutual understanding and cultivates a profound sense of togetherness. 

Through my art, I aim to challenge societal norms and provoke thoughtful conversations about the complexities of women's experiences. By engaging with the physical presentation of my work, the audience becomes an active participant in the creative process, contributing to the collective exploration of these themes.
